More about (the professional) me... I am happily unemployed while husband Howard & I take a year plus sabbatical to travel & spend time with family & friends. I hired my very capable replacement at Earthjustice, where I had been a part of the Communications Department for 6 years. My position had expanded from webmaster - print designer - photo database manager - chief bottle washer to the officially titled Director of Online Strategy. As director, I grew the online team to 4 staff, and together we maintained our numerous web sites and coordinated & expanded our overall online communications efforts.
Prior to that I was part of the IT department of Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo & Marin Counties. There I developed an intranet for the organization using PHP as a programming language and integrating with MySQL databases. It was a much more technical position, and I learned a huge amount from my VP, mentor, and friend, Peter. Of course, I still haven't forgiven him for laying me off during a terrible budget crunch (remember, Peter?) Luckily, the organization has bounced back in no small part due the huge cost savings Peter has afforded by developing technology solutions for tracking inventory from drop off to sale.
My passion remains connecting people with information. Working in the online environment exploits my talents in multiple areas: written & spoken communication, graphic design, marketing, organization, and teamwork.
