Picture Al Franken riding a miniature horse.  No, it didn't work for me either.  But they were both part of my January experience!

I've enjoyed Al on SNL & books on tape but had never seen him in person.  We listened to him speak in an "interview" format sponsored by the City Arts & Lecture series, and we were delighted when someone asked him our question, "When the hell are you going to become our AM radio left-wing spokesperson a la Rush Limbaugh?" (Answer - typical Democrat - "I'm looking at my options.")

At some other point I played with miniature horses at the Exploratorium (SF's world-class science museum).  They are CUTE, and pint-sized.  My sister Steph's wolfhounds would stand shoulder to shoulder.  I start to fantasize about keeping one in the backyard of our new house.

We saw my folks, Howard's dad & step-mom, and our college pal Maren & her family all this month.  Arn, Howard's dad, had his birthday during our Super Bowl party - how convenient!  My mom, at 70 plus, still skis better than me. Some things never change.
